Okay, hold on, though. Stop for a second.

Why are so many of you quick to blame the Connecticut shooter's urges on (alleged) autism?

Do you know what autism is? At all?

Here's the truth. I don't give a fuck if he had a form of autism. Autism which, by the way, does not contribute to offensive lapses in judgment. There is absolutely no evidence or any reliable research that suggests a linkage between adult autism and planned violence. And by definition, adults with a diagnosis of autism or Asperger's are actually not inclined to commit any act of violence. The likelihood of this happening would be no different than the rest of the population. And, on top of everything, is incredibly offensive to those who live with autism. Do you realize how horribly irresponsible that is? Why would we choose to stigmatize all of the progress we have made in regards to autism research and development?

To excuse the fact that twenty children are dead?

What the fuck, you guys?

I understand that we are attempting to justify something here. But no matter how deeply you dig, or how much you research, there will never be an answer that justifies what happened on Friday.

You are quite literally adding insult to injury by alienating this innocent, marginalized group of humans. I urge both my personal friends and the media / professionals who participate in speculative interviews about the motives of the shooter to refrain from spewing misleading comments about autism and other neurodevelopmental disabilities.
