Simple Toffee Wafers

You know how people sue McDonald's for making them fat? Do you think one day people are going to sue bloggers for posting recipes? Isn't that the same concept?

You will need:

A cookie sheet or jelly roll pan
Enough saltine crackers to layer on pan (about half a box)
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup packed brown sugar
Half bag of semisweet chocolate chips
Half bag of butterscotch chips

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line your cookie sheet with some type of nonstick parchment paper or aluminum foil. Place the crackers in one layer.

In a small sauce pan, combine butter and brown sugar and bring to a boil. Let the boil stand for about three minutes.

Once your mixture has boiled for a few minutes, remove from heat and immediately pour over crackers. Spread it out evenly.

Take a break. Grab a handful of chocolate and butterscotch chips. Eat the whole thing in one gulp.

Place pan of crackers and sugar/butter mixture in the center rack for 5 minutes.

While in the oven, melt the chocolate chips and butterscotch chips in the microwave in 45 second increments. Mix until combined.

Remove pan from oven and immediately spread butterscotch and chocolate chips over the crackers, and spread evenly.

Shamelessly lick the spatula.

Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting into squares. (You may not even have to cut them... the crackers will break apart naturally.)

Brush your teeth.
