Simple 5 Ingredient Bread Recipe

Sunday, May 13, 2012

This was my first attempt at baking bread from scratch. It came out wonderfully. My slices were kind of small because I used disposable bread pans, but the recipe will be fine in regular sized pans.

Super simple! If you're not a baker, you may want to give this a try. Here ya go-

5 Ingredient Bread:

2 3/4 cups warm water
1 1/2 packages rapid rise yeast
1 Tablespoon salt
1 1/2 Tablespoons sugar
5 1/2 cups bread flour

Mix everything together (you'll want to use your hands), then divide dough in half and place in two bread pans. Let the dough rise until it reaches the top of the pans (this will take about an hour; you may place a damp cloth over the pans to speed up rising time).  Bake in 350 degree oven for 35 minutes. After 35 minutes, brush the tops with melted butter. Continue baking for an additional 10 minutes. Bread will be moist at first. Allow to cool completely before cutting (HAHA, YEAH RIGHT, but whatever).
